Some things just aren\u2019t worth investing in. The guy who never calls you before 9pm, the crumbling brasserie<\/em> on the bad side of town\u2026 and those super cute shoes you know<\/em> you\u2019ll wear down cause you\u2019ll wear them every day! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let\u2019s talk about what I never<\/em> invest in when it comes to my French wardrobe. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bad Fashion Investments<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m an American living in Paris who is obsessed with French girl style<\/a>. While Paris has endless options for fashion investment pieces, here are the pieces I just won\u2019t<\/em> invest in, no matter how tempting it may be! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Everyday Shoes<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

There are two trains of thought when it comes to shoes: you should<\/em> invest in them because you wear them every day and need to be comfortable, or you shouldn\u2019t invest in them because you wear them every day and they will wear down fast! I personally am of the latter camp. I don\u2019t invest much in shoes I know I’ll be wearing every day like flats<\/a> and leather ankle boots. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

T-Shirts<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

$300 for a t-shirt<\/a>? I just won\u2019t do it. Plus, I don\u2019t like thick t-shirts. I\u2019ll take the thin material of a cheap white t-shirt, any day!\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sweaters<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

There are so many \u2018luxury\u2019 sweaters out there that can cost upwards of $500. This is a hard one because having a quality 100% wool or 100% cashmere is a fall and winter wardrobe must-have. Yet every sweater I\u2019ve owned has pilled within one season. With some digging, I\u2019ve been able to find high-quality ones for a somewhat reasonable price, so sweaters are not clothing I\u2019ll invest in. That being said, I won\u2019t buy the $100 ones either. Even if they\u2019re 100% cashmere or wool, they are always ultra-thin and low quality in my experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jeans<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The price of jeans<\/a> seems to be going up and up! It really baffles me how these casual pants have become a luxury purchase. Luckily there are lots of amazing jean brands which sell high-quality jeans at a good price. This is one pant I certainly don\u2019t invest in. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tops<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

I typically like to have a closet full of good tops, so I don\u2019t spend too much on each. Plus, if the top is patterned, you can only wear it once or twice per season since it\u2019s memorable. For that reason, I don\u2019t splurge on tops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
